The human brain has natural ability to heal and work through stressful experiences; however, trauma, overwhelming experiences, emotional injuries, ongoing stressors, etc., can interrupt and create barriers to that natural process.

Psychotherapy can help you work through a variety of difficulties that impact your ability to effectively function in important areas of your life. Your therapist will collaborate with you to identify a plan that supports reduction in troubling emotions or behaviors and supportively guide you toward healing.

Our therapists have received specialized training in evidence-based treatment approaches and continuously learn and master additional approaches and ways to treat trauma. This helps to better understand how past life experiences have caused current challenges that interrupt your ability to optimally function in important areas of your life (family, relationships, work, school, sense of self, etc.). The goal of therapy is to help develop skills and healthy perspectives that support you in managing future stressors in a healthy way.

What psychotherapy can help with:

  • life transitions and unexpected life stressors

  • adjusting to recent major stressors

  • improving mood

  • anxiety disorders

  • depression

  • single event or complex traumas (e.g. chronic trauma exposure, combat, sexual, racial/ethnic, childhood, religious, etc.)

  • interpersonal relationship conflicts

  • improving communication

  • healing from betrayals

  • managing ADHD symptoms

  • improve coping

  • substance use/misuse

  • feeling more calm and regulated

  • and more!
