EMDR certification is a marker of your mastery of the EMDR Standard protocol and expertise in this bottom-up treatment modality. Certification increases your marketability as a therapist to both clients and employers alike. Certification informs that you have gone above and beyond to learn and refine your skillset. Clients can count on your ability to support them through their vulnerable work and providers can count on your ability to effectively treat your clients.

Consultation gives you the opportunity to receive guidance and support in your cases as you gain confidence and competence in your skillset. The certification process involves 20 hours of consultation with an approved consultant, practicing EMDR with at least 25 different clients after completion of Basic Training, completion of at least 50 EMDR sessions, and completion of 12 EMDRIA CE credits. Consultation hours must be completed within a 5 year period to count toward certification. Your hours can be a combination of individual and group consultation.
